The difference between PC board and PVC board

The biggest difference between PC boards and PVC boards is the base material. The main base material of PC board is polycarbonate, while the base material of PVC board is polyvinyl chloride, so the characteristics brought about are also different.

The density of PC board is lower than that of PVC board, the continuous use temperature is higher than that of PVC board, the light transmission performance is better than PVC board, and the visible light transmission rate is similar, and both PVC and PC board can completely block ultraviolet rays.

For sound insulation, PC board is internationally recognized as the material of choice for highway noise barriers, and it can even insulate 40 decibels of sound. Although the sound insulation effect of PVC is good, it cannot be used in outdoor environments because it is not anti-aging.

PC board is an excellent insulator material, while PVC board is a polymer with better electrical properties, often used as a low-frequency insulating material.

During the construction process, due to the strong rigidity of the PC board and the large coefficient of thermal expansion and cold contraction, it is relatively easy to install. However, PVC must not be used in outdoor lighting because it is not resistant to old fires and is easy to burn.

Both PVC board and PC board have strong corrosion resistance, but their corrosion-resistant objects are different. PVC board can resist most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, and most organic solvents, and can be used as medicine and chemical anti-corrosion materials; and PC boards have better resistance to strong concentrations of acids, alkalis, salts, and various oils and solvents in the atmosphere and water.
